About announce	English (USA)
The UVLUG Announcements list is a low-traffic list mainly for receiving event and activity announcements. The list is no-reply and can be posted to only by UVLUG leadership (other attempted postings will come through only when the list modorator approves them). Loging on to our site doesn't guarantee that you've been entered on this list (or visa-versa), although we usually add you to this list if we notice you haven't done it yourself. We also recommend participation on our other lists (and website), but because of the potential for high volume they are opt-in only, meaning you generally have to sign yourself up. The other lists are places that you can ask linux-related questions and receive answers. They are a highly valuable resource for anyone who wants to learn, or who has a specific problem they need to tackle. To sign up for the other lists, go to http://uvlug.org/mailman/listinfo. Using announce
To post a message to all the list members, send email to announce@uvlug.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to announce
Subscribe to announce by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
